Home to many of the Bay Area’s most dynamic performing arts presenters, the San Francisco War Memorial and Performing Arts Center (the War Memorial) is a landmark cultural institution owned and operated by the City and County of San Francisco.
The San Francisco Ballet, San Francisco Opera, and San Francisco Symphony are the resident performing arts presenters of the War Memorial Opera House and Davies Symphony Hall.
The Veterans Building is home to the American Legion Posts and has a number of other tenants, including numerous Veterans organizations, San Francisco Grants for the Arts, and the San Francisco Arts Commission.
The American Legion War Memorial Commission (ALWMC) is responsible for coordinating use of Veterans Building facilities for established posts and patriotic organizations, as provided for in the War Memorial Charter. For more information or to schedule use of a meeting room, please contact the ALWMC office.
