Iconic New York City trans drag performer Peppermint earned the instant adoration of RuPaul’s Drag Race fans when she competed on the show’s ninth season. But in A Deeper Love: The Story of Miss Peppermint, filmmaker Oriel Pe’er takes us behind the scenes of the story we saw on television. Spanning years of backstage footage and featuring candid appearances from such drag performers as Bob the Drag Queen, Sherry Vine, and Sasha Velour, we witness Peppermint in the before-and-after of the show’s spotlight.
