Miss & Mr. Safe Latino was born at Esta Noche, the iconic Latino gay bar in the Mission, in response to the HIV epidemic in the San Francisco Latino gay community. Over the years, this event has served as a space to challenge stigma and discrimination, while increasing awareness of LGBT health and wellness. Every year, hundreds of people witness the power of the Latino LGBT community, as participants showcase their talent, knowledge and understanding of LGBT issues, and commitment to the community.
